We were utterly speechless with the outcome of these photos. We learned that hiking was a big deal for this couple, and we thought, "Alright, that sounds doable!" We had figured the hike wouldn't be too intense since our client was pregnant. Boy, were we in for a surprise!
We had never been to Briones Regional Park before, and can we just say, WOW! The gorgeous, scenic views of the East Bay with Mt. Diablo in the distance literally took our breath away. (The hike did as well, but we will get to that later.) Since this photoshoot was in March, the vibrant green hills and little pops of wildflowers painted such a gorgeous backdrop for this maternity session.
These soon-to-be parents were the most kind-hearted and genuine people. It was so easy to take their photos because they were so sweet and kind, and their laid-back demeanor helped create these gorgeous photos. Even with the oncoming rain clouds we were trying to beat (also which we had to postpone our session due to a crazy storm that blew in the week prior), these two were just amazing.
We met them on a residential street entrance and started walking in, getting to know each other and admiring the beauty of the hills. We asked if they knew the best spot for photos, and they pointed to a "peak" that wasn't "too far of a hike." Taking a deep breath, we said, "Let's go!" We couldn't resist stopping along the way to snap some photos, but once we reached the lookout spot, we had to pause (to catch our breath) and take in the stunning scenery all around us.
SIDENOTE: How amazing is our Creator for painting such beautiful landscapes for us to enjoy!? It's incredible how blessed we are to live in such a vibrant and colorful place.
After catching our breath, we captured Mt. Diablo in the background as the wind picked up (we love windy photos!) and the storm started to roll in. We realized we needed to hurry back to the cars to avoid getting caught in the rain and losing all the light! And we were blessed with a gorgeous sunset.
To say we had a tough time editing these photos is an understatement because EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS BEAUTIFUL, and we couldn't decide which to keep! The colors, the couple, the location, the clouds...chef's kiss!
