Lafayette Ridge Trailhead, Briones Regional Park

Briones Regional Park in the East Bay features four major trailheads with many loop possibilities, and the Lafayette Ridge Trailhead is one of them that offers a spectacular and majestic view overlooking the East Bay and Mt. Diablo.

PARKING

Parking is free in the residential area. You can also park at the Reliez Valley Trailhead, which is a few miles north of the Lafayette Ridge Trailhead, that has a small lot but is a 1.5 mile trek to get to the ridge top.

FEES

There are no entrance fees. Travel fees apply.

ACCESSIBILITY

This park has many various hiking trails and not for the faint of heart! There are no bathrooms on the Lafayette Ridge Trail but are found at the park entrance down below the hill.

PETS

Pets are allowed at this location! Be sure to keep your fur baby on a leash at all times since there are other wildlife and hikers with their dogs.

DOWNSIDES

There is quite a hike to get to some majestic shots - but they are so worth it!

This is not recommended for those with walking disabilities.
