We are so grateful for our experience with HK Create. Heather and Kissy were professional, organized, and incredibly easy to work with, but what stood out most was how warm and comfortable they made the entire session feel. Family photos with little kids can easily be stressful, yet they created such a relaxed atmosphere that we were all able to enjoy ourselves. My husband commented afterward that it was the most comfortable he has ever felt with a professional photographer, which says a lot. That ease really shows in the photos, especially with our girls—their expressions feel natural and joyful, and the images captured so much personality and connection rather than looking stiff or forced. Before the session, I shared that my goals were simple: I wanted at least one family photo where I didn’t look like the overstimulated, raggedy mom I often feel like, and I hoped both kids might somehow look at the camera. Heather and Kissy exceeded our expectations in every way. We received not only beautiful family portraits, but also so many candid, playful, and meaningful images that captured our family so well in this season of life. We are beyond thankful for their talent, patience, and professionalism, and for making the entire experience feel so easy and enjoyable. The final gallery absolutely blew us away.

We had such a lovely experience!
The photographers were so patient with our little one and super friendly. They let us click whatever we wanted and kept checking in with us about the poses, which made the whole process so easy and fun.
From start to finish, they were helpful and supportive honestly everything you’d hope for in a photographer. We really had a good time!

Heather and Kissy were so much fun to work with! They were able to get our 18 month old daughter to smile for the camera within a few minutes of meeting her. There were a few shots/poses that I wanted and they made sure to get those as well as lots of other poses.
Their guide was very helpful for helping to coordinate outfits and had tips for how to prepare with kids.
In the end, the pictures turned out beautifully and we’d love to work with Heather and Kissy again.

Newborn-Shoots, Christmas Photos, Portrait Photoshoots and Cake Smash - we did them all with HK Create. Each of the photos still blows us and our friends and family away.

We loved working with Heather and Kissy for our family photoshoot. The pre-session guide they provided was incredibly informative and helped us go into the photoshoot feeling prepared and with some peace of mind.
They did a great job of making it a comfortable and fun experience for everyone, which is a huge accomplishment when there are various family members, a toddler, and a dog involved!
They were very sweet and gentle with my parents who are older and sometimes have trouble with direction. I've done a few sessions with Heather and Kissy and it's such a positive experience every time. Sometimes it's tough to corral all the kids (they are always full of excited energy!), or for this session even to get my one-year old to smile (he was very overwhelmed), but Heather and Kissy always lead us through those moments with kindness and fun. My baby was so upset in the beginning, I wasn't sure we'd get any photos of him smiling. He was crying, I couldn't remember his favorite songs, neither of us were having a good time, but then Heather and Kissy to the rescue - someone started singing "The Wheels on the Bus" and that got my son's attention. They photographed the other kids in our group while my son took a break to explore nearby. When they were ready for him again he didn't want to sit for posed photos and was still not giving us a lot of smiles so Heather and Kissy directed the kids to run and play for some candid shots. To my delight, and to the credit of Heather's and Kissy's skill, when I got the final images there were dozens to choose from with my son smiling and having a good time, even some from the beginning of the session when he was so upset. Where I only saw tears, their camera found thoughtful, inquisitive, and even traces of a smile. Heather and Kissy are experienced, talented, and kind. It's easy to work with them, and fun to be in a session under their guidance. The quality of the photos is so high. I love that they capture such a variety of expressions and interactions at each session. My family and I will always have those moments to revisit and to remember, and that means the world to me. Heather and Kissy are both very talented and have a great eye! Follow their color guides and you’ll be so happy you did!
Their photos come out looking crisp and clean yet soft and airy. I’ve gotten really good at spotting their work amongst social media because they just have that signature look!
They are great with children- seriously- leave it to Kissy to make a fool of herself just to get a little one to smile! You don’t feel rushed and you feel like they listen and genuinely care about the quality of your photos. Give them a try!

I first reached out to Heather and Kissy of HKCreate for our family Christmas photos in 2018. We were completely blown away with the first session we had with the sisters. They were able to get our 6 month old and 2 year old boys to give so many smiles. They have a gift for getting our kids to relax and enjoy the photo session like never before.
Since then we have used them for all our Christmas photos and milestones like cake smash pics and spring birthday pictures of our boys growing up. Our whole family looks forward to our sessions and we have a blast every single time.
Heather and Kissy come over to Santa Cruz to take our pictures at the beach where we have the best time. Each session we have had has produced the best quality photos we could have dreamt of.
We cherish these memories and have the pictures over the past 4+ year all over our house. We also truly appreciate that the sessions are very reasonable. We wouldn’t be able to afford professional photography this quality otherwise, they are worth every penny!

Heather and Kissy were awesome to work with from beginning to end! My husband and I first reached out to them for maternity photos. They were very quick to respond to my inquiry and my many questions.
We don’t take professional photos often, so the style guide and suggestions that they offered were greatly appreciated.
The photo session itself went even better than I could have imagined; they listened to our questions and concerns, were patient with us and our dog, and even my husband who strongly dislikes taking photos said that he was happy with the experience.
The edited photos were returned to us quickly and looked beautiful! We’re so glad we booked the maternity session with Heather and Kissy and plan to book with them again in the future!

The session went so smooth and it was great that there were two of you so one can keep my son focused/entertained!
It was our first time doing a mini session but it was great for my son, I feel like anything longer than 30 min would’ve been too hard for us.
The turnaround time to receive the pictures were so fast so I was able to print my holiday cards and send them on time!!
