Have you ever had a situation where you were faced with someone else's problem and you could either ignore it or help?
The second we arrived at this area, we were so excited to see our clients and shoot at this new beach location. So when someone stopped us and pointed to some car keys on the ground asking if they were ours, we were taken aback. We could have left them there - surely someone would retrace their steps - but we asked a few people and moved them to a rock in a visible spot.
A man sitting in their car asked us what was going on and we explained about the keys so he found the car they belonged to and put the keys in the door.
He asked some people and we asked other people if the car keys belonged to them and each of them said no. So we continued on our way scouting spots for our session.
We were so excited for this session because we've been this family's photographers for almost three years now--ever since their daughter was a newborn! At the beginning of our sessions in the past she used to be somewhat timid, but now she's all smiles! We appreciate how her parents let her explore her surroundings and are so easygoing and patient with her. Each session with them has been a true blessing. <3
This was our first session at the beach with them, and it was COLD and WINDY! In the Bay Area we've been experiencing more rain and storms than we usually do around this time of year (which we're grateful for!) so we were religiously checking the forecast, and were HOPING and PRAYING for the weather to hold during this session so we wouldn't have to reschedule. And guess what?! Not only was there no rain (praise the Lord!) but it was the SUNNIEST day of the week (in Pacifica, no less!).
We love how people are willing to be adventurous during our sessions--and these two parents were no exception! When asked if they could stand in the water despite the cold, they said SURE! The best natural light at the beach is always closest to the waves and makes for some pretty epic photos!
Continuing the keys story (you thought we forgot, did you?), a man came up to us and asked us if we were the ones to find the keys. Turns out he’d been looking for a couple hours retracing his steps from his hike and was about to call an Uber when some ladies we had talked with pointed us to him. He could have driven off without mentioning to us but he was so overcome with gratitude that he wanted to thank us personally.
We had just finished our session and we were so caught off guard how blessed the man was. He was almost in tears. But we are so glad we helped him in some way.
We chatted with our clients for a bit more because we didn’t want time to stop! They will be moving back to Germany soon (cue the tears!) and we consider them our friends. We are so sad to see them go because they are such sweet and genuine people. They even gave us Azalea flower pots at the end of our session, and said when they come to the U.S. again they will be sure to schedule a session with us! Honestly, we'd just be grateful to see them no matter what. ;-)
We left the session with huge smiles on our faces thanking the Lord with how the day turned out. All in all, ‘twas a good day.

KIND WORDS:
"WOOOW! Every time we get your photos we are certain to see the best photos ever. And then we get to see the latest ones and they are even better (although "perfect" can't be better). We are blessed to know you and thankful for every time seeing you. Can't wait to see you again when we are back. You are the very best - and it's art what you are creating.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! ________________________________________________________________________________________
