Guadalupe Oak Grove Park in San Jose didn't disappoint for this family fall session, especially with the gorgeous fall glow shining through the trees.
It's easy to make little ones laugh and distract them from the nerves of getting their photo taken. So we say (as Bay Area Family Photographers) "challenge accepted" when we get a teen for our photoshoots, haha!
Most times, they are dragged from the comfort of their room, forced to wear clothes they don't normally wear, and have to smile for thirty minutes and look happy about it. We feel you, teenagers!
When the mom had emailed us and said she just wanted to have fun for their session, we kept that in mind and immediately clicked with them.
We literally laughed the whole session. We can be pretty sarcastic people so when we noticed the teen had a sarcastic side, we made quick friends! When we told him to tell his mom a joke and he quickly replied, "you look beautiful!" We all were laughing so hard at his quick thinking. (Don't worry, no mothers were offended at this joke when spoken.)
While Kissy was taking photos of the cute couple, Heather chatted about baseball and found similar interests so that when it was the teen's time for his individual shots, he was comfortable in front of the camera (and with us too!).
At the end of the session, we felt victorious at the words of our teen, "Yeah, I guess that was pretty fun. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." *victorious fist pump in the air!*
