BEKI + JOEY WEDDING // Jardine de San Juan // San Juan Bautista

THE COUPLE

Beki and Joey met on an online dating site, and, after dating a couple months, knew they found "the One." When we met them, we could tell that we would hit it with them because of all the playful banter mixed with our favorite movie quotes. Both are fiercely loved by their family and friends and you can tell they cherish every single one of them.

THE PROPOSAL

Joey took Beki on a hike to big Basin, and halfway through, they stopped for lunch. They found a quiet spot by a little babbling brook and Joey set up his phone on a tripod to "take pictures of the brook." Joey then began to explain that he had come to Big Basin the day prior and after several minutes of convincing, he announces "Welcome to the Moment." He had Beki stand up as he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. And she said YES!

THE WEDDING

It was a warm October day in San Juan Bautista where we met the ladies in the bridal party at a little Air BnB. Right off, we could not stop commenting on how beautiful the Bride's dress was (by BHLDN). The embroidery detail was stunning! Beki could not stop glowing as she got into her dress and we began her portraits. Her "ladies in waiting" were so happy for her and made the photos so fun to take with their laughter and banter between one another.

We then left the ladies to take the guys' photos in downtown San Juan Bautista. (Seriously, this little town has SO many spots to take photos! Different colored walls and eclectic designs made for such a hometown-y feel.) Joey was the chillest groom. He was calm and comfortable in front of the camera as we shot the little details on his attire. He's a woodworker, so there were a lot of custom-made wood accessories throughout the day.

The First Look was scheduled for a different spot, but we ended up taking photos in an enclosed, intimate little garden (you gotta be flexible in this biz!). Their moment was so sweet and you could tell they could not wait to tie the knot!

Their wedding ceremony, held at Jardines de San Juan, had no need for additional decor as we were surrounded by lush greens, succulents and vibrant florals. They said their "I do's" under a wooden arch made by the groom, and had Beki's brothers officiate with such a sweet and personal ceremony.

We snagged the happy couple away for some quick sunset shots (literally 5 minutes, people!) and then the festivities began! The food catered by Jardines de San Juan and cake (by Nothing Bundt Cakes) looked delicious, and the dancing was a main attraction for all their guests! We ended the night with a Sparkler Exit and said farewell to the new Mr. & Mrs!

Beki and Joey are such welcoming people to be around and made us feel like one of the guests! They radiated so much love on their wedding day. They were peaceful, joyful, calm and flexible. We had so much fun photographing this momentous occasion for them!
