Our feet may have been pretty traumatized after this session but it was all WORTH IT!
We've known this couple from the beginning of their relationship - from their prom, to their surprise proposal, to their graduation photos - it only makes sense we capture their engagement session and wedding too! They both bring out the best in each other and are the sweetest with just a hint of sass to make for a perfect blend of beautiful people - our kind of people. ;-)
Our original location was down the coast of Half Moon Bay but since it was really populated with weekend beachgoers, we decided to drive down a bit and found parking for Cowell Ranch. The hills were covered in yellow wildflowers and was the perfect sight as we walked the 7 min walk to the beach. Once you descend the stairs, you find yourself in this intimate enclosed beach surrounded by towering cliffs.
The only con - aside from a lot of walking to get to the destination - was the sand. Or was it rocks? Small tiny pebbles of death that - without any protection covering your feet - felt like it was ripping your flesh off pebble by pebble. Heather was smart in keeping her shoes on, but Kissy - ever the adventurer - decided since she was at the beach she would go barefoot. Bad idea. And the bride-to-be had just had toe surgery so that was a cherry on top for her.
But they were both troopers and followed through even when their feet were hurting, even when the breeze picked up and it got pretty chilly. They followed our prompts for poses and we were able to get some epic cliff sunset shots towards the end of the session. #worthit
