CHLOE + DONJAE

STYLED SHOOT LOCATION:

Baylands Park Sunnyvale, Ca

THE MODELS
This couple knew Heather from church - they are the absolute best - so when we were planning our styled shoot, we knew they would be a perfect fit as our models! Even better, they never got to experience all the wedding experience due to having a living room wedding during the COVID lockdowns.

THE STYLED SHOOT
Last year we had a our first styled shoot with a couple vendors and since we had so much fun, we decided to do it again but with more vendors! We teamed up with the great Amanda at Beauty By Santi and reached out to many various local vendors in the Bay Area to see if they wanted to join in!

THE MOOD BOARD
First we created a mood board with our desired color scheme. We decided on a boho theme with a coral/peach color pop. We love the natural feel and knew it would work well the springtime surroundings of the Bay Area.

THE LOCATION
If you follow us and check out our blog, you'll see one of our fav locations is Baylands Park in Sunnyvale. With easy parking, public bathrooms, and vast landscape views, we knew this spot was going to be a blast to photograph! Leading up to the date of our styled shoot, the weather was playing with us in saying that it would rain. We were nervous for a quick minute but powered through and stayed the course - which is a good thing because we ended up getting some majestic cloud shots! Living in the Bay Area, you know there's a small window of having green grass and we wanted to take advantage of the spring colors.

THE VENDORS
Gathering our vendors felt like recruiting the Avengers - creating a dream team that SHOWED UP!

Beauty By Santi: Our first obvious choice was Amanda with Beauty By Santi. Not only is she an amazing person and friend but she's literally the best hair and makeup stylist we know! Her husband has curly hair and she knows how to work with curls so she's our trusted hair stylist for our curly ethnic curls.

Inside the Parlor: Speaking of Amanda's husband, enter in Corey! This dude is genuine and is friendly to the extreme - literally he can connect with anyone. Seeing as this time around, we had a male model, we brought in Corey the barber and his slick skills to shape up our model's fade.

Identity Designs Co.: Next, Amanda connected with her friend Caitlyn from her church and we had so much fun meeting her and chatting about being Kingdom Creators. Her jewelry is gorgeous and handmade (which we love!) and she is such a beautiful soul!

Oh My Picnic: We reached out to Hailey at Oh My Picnic! and OH MY! Her work is stunning! She was so easy-going and came up with a beautiful picnic for our boho styled session. She was the sweetest to work with and hope to create with her again!

The Enchanted Cake: We've known Andrea for quite a while but have never worked with her in a collaboration. We gave her a few ideas of what we were looking for and were BLOWN AWAY with what she came up with! We couldn't choose our favorite part of the cake - the gorgeous stenciling design on the buttercream or the lifelike sugar florals she made BY HAND! Not only was it beautiful but it was one of the best cakes we have ever tasted! (We were able to taste it at the end - we were all excited to take a bite! It was almost too beautiful to cut into!) We were so surprised how the lifelike florals on her cake matched the florals perfectly!

The Traveling Stem: Which brings us to the florals! Angela created such a beautiful display of colors and blooms of some of our favorite flowers and we didn't even tell her! She worked with our color scheme and mood board and created gorgeous table centerpieces and a bridal bouquet. She is an amazing talent in the floral industry!

Trudy's Brides: We reached out to Trudy's via social media and are so glad we did! Not only were they open to working with us BUT after speaking with Didi, their bridal stylist, she offered to let us model two of their dresses! We got to experience the full bridal experience by taking our model to try on "all the dresses"and choose which worked best for our styled session. Didi was so chill and fun to work with and she gave us the referral for our men's suit!

Tuxedo Wearhouse: We almost lost hope in finding a men's suit and were close to using an old one someone had but we're so glad we were able to work with Tuxedo Wearhouse! Luis and the team were so fun to work with and they did an amazing job in altering our model's suit. They even provided the shoes, cufflinks, tie and vest!

Lezlie Riley Designs: Being as how our bridal gowns couldn't be "fitted" we had to come up with genius ways of "altering" without tampering with the dress. Our first dress was too large for our model so Lezlie helped us out with fitting it to our bride! She did awesome work and we were able to capture the dress without even showing the alteration, haha!

All in all, it was an awesome time making new friends and connections! It all came together beautifully and we look forward to more opportunities!
